Wildlife legislation enacted, but amendments underway to address concerns raised by the Secretariat in 2021/2022. Update on legislation sent on 3 Nov. 2023. First formal warning issued by SC77. Legislative analysis done by Secretariat on 29 Nov. 2023. Update received in Nov. 2024: Kenya to repeal existing legislation and adopt new wildlife law. Draft wildlife law shared with the Secretariat in April 2025. 

Submission of amendments for designation MA, SA and Enforcement authorities presented to Parliament. Agreement between KE and Secretariat on revised legislative analysis, including possible Category 1 status.
