This macroscopic identification guide represents also a compilaton of specialized information of technical and scientific literature of macroscopic characteristics of cortex and timber, as well as the physical and mechanical properties of the wood. 

The guide comprises 2,271 files on tree species, of which 1,273 include information on the transformation and uses of their timber and other wood products.
