On 10 June 2015, a Shark & Ray National Symposium was organized by WWF Indonesia. This symposium, which was held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), is a collaboration between the Director of Conservation for Area and Fish Species of the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKJI-KKP RI) and WWF-Indonesia. The event aimed to discuss management solutions to save sharks and rays in Indonesia.

Capacity development workshop on the implementation of the Port State Measures Agreement (PSMA), Colombo, Sri Lanka Colombo, Sri Lanka

This workshop was part of a series of regional workshops to build capacity for and promote the FAO Agreement on Port State Measures Port State Measures to Combat IUU Fishing (PSMA). The workshop included presentations on the role of other multilateral bodies and their role in combating IUU fishing and scenario exercises during which the participants from many countries in the Indian Ocean region explored the implications of the PSMA for a real world example.

The CITES Secretariat delivered a presentation on existing CITES provisions on Introduction from the Sea and possible synergies with the entry into force of the FAO PSMA and provided information participants during the scenario exercises on the relevant CITES provisions.
