Guidelines to the National Ivory Action Plan Process

The Guidelines, adopted by the 17th meeting of the Conference of Parties to CITES (CoP17) are available as Annex 3 to Resolution Conf. 10.10 (Rev.19) on Trade in elephant specimens

The Guidelines set out the Process in five steps:

Step 1: Identification of Parties to participate in the National Ivory Action Plans Process

Step 2: Development of a NIAP

Step 3: Assessment of the adequacy of a NIAP

Step 4: Monitoring of implementation

Step 5: Completion of a NIAP and exit from NIAP Process
