The Kinshasa Declaration
The CITES Secretariat participated in the First Intergovernmental Meeting on Great Apes and the first meeting of the Council of the Great Apes Survival Project (GRASP), which were held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, from 5 to 9 September 2005. The CITES Secretariat was subsequently elected to the GRASP Executive Committee and will represent other biodiversity-related agreements (Convention on Biological Diversity, Convention on Migratory Species and the World Heritage Convention). The Intergovernmental Meeting adopted the Kinshasa declaration.
