Illegal Trade in Falcons in Syria

This study was conducted during the period from July 2008 to July 2011 to assess the level of legal and illegal international trade in falcons and also how falcons are used in Syria. This study aims to assess how illegal trade can be reduced and how legal trade can be promoted to preserve falcons and sustain falconers, particularly as regulated by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
