The objective of this publication is to assist and facilitate the role of negotiators of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) in the development of formal noncompliance mechanisms and procedures. It complements the earlier publication entitled “Compliance Mechanisms Under Selected Multilateral Environmental Agreements” published by UNEP in 2007.
